One of the best trekking and biking experiences in Ausangate. We will ride through the 7 colored mountain and the 7 turquoise lagoons on the slopes of Ausangate.
We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 in the morning to head south of the city. We will travel for about 3 and a half hours by car until we reach the community of Cusipata, the first control point where we will present our tickets. During the journey, we will make a stop for breakfast, around 6:00 in the morning.
After finishing our breakfast, we will continue our journey to the starting point of the trail to the Rainbow Mountain. The distance of this path takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on our physical condition.
Arriving at Rainbow Mountain, our guide will talk a bit about the mountain and the reason for its colors. After our visit, we will return to the starting point and continue by car to the community of Pacchanta (approximate travel time 3 hours). We will have lunch at a buffet restaurant along the way.
Around 8:00 in the evening, we will be arriving at the community of Pacchanta. You will have the opportunity to relax in its hot springs, enjoying the starry night. We will spend the night in Pacchanta in houses adapted by the community itself.
We will start our day at 8 in the morning, and after breakfast, we will prepare our bikes to mount them on the horses, lightening our load while going uphill. In case you feel physically fit, you can pedal this section.
We will walk alongside the muleteer towards the 7 lakes of Ausangate (walking time approximately 5 hours). Our first stop is the Red Lagoon, also called Puca Cocha; next, we will find Patacocha Lagoon, which, compared to the first one, has clearer waters. The third lagoon we will encounter is Alcacocha, the highest of the circuit (4750 meters above sea level). From this point, we will have a panoramic view of the Ausangate mountain range. We will continue, this time descending on our bikes, reaching our fourth lagoon, Qomerococha or Green Lagoon. The next two lagoons are the smallest in the circuit, Orco Otorongo and China Otorongo, also called male jaguar and female jaguar.
Finally, we will arrive at one of the most beautiful of the 7 lakes, the Blue Lagoon, where we can see the reflection of Ausangate in its waters (depending on the weather). We will finish in the community of Pacchanta, where we will have lunch and rest before returning to the city of Cusco (Estimated arrival time 6:00 pm).
