One of the best biking experiences in Ausangate. Ride through the 7 colored mountain and the 7 turquoise lagoons on the slopes of Ausangate.
One of the most visited destinations in the city of Cusco, the 7 Colors Mountain, will be the first stage of our tour. We will pass by your hotel at 4:30 in the morning and drive to the community of Cusipata. We will be having breakfast around 6:00 a.m. in a buffet restaurant, after breakfast we will continue by car until we reach the starting point of the trek.
Our guide will give you a brief safety briefing before continuing with the hike, we will prepare our backpacks with essentials (water, windbreaker, sun block, snacks) and we will continue walking for about 2 hours depending on our physical resistance. The trail is not difficult, it is generally flat, with a short positive incline at the end of the trail. We will have time to capture the best pictures of the mountain, the guide will explain the reason for the colors, on the other side towards the south side, you will be able to observe the Ausangate snow-capped mountain. After visiting the mountain of 7 colors, we will walk 30 minutes to reach the camp for lunch. This time we will continue biking on a flat trail accompanied by mountains, small rivers and of course Ausangate on the side. We will cycle 2 hours more, however, if you feel tired, you can get on the car at any time.
We will arrive at the camp around 5:00 pm, our team will be waiting for you with hot drinks and a small snack. We will sleep at the camp
The day starts at 7:00 a.m., we will get ready to pedal on a slightly flat trail. We will have a muleteer available to help us with our backpacks. After a brief briefing from the guide, we will continue cycling the trail for about 1 hour. Once at the foot of the Jampa pass, there will be sections where you can pedal or walk and push the bike. The ride to the Jampa pass lasts approximately 2 hours more, while we climb we can closely observe the snowy Callangate, also we will be very close to alpaca and llama farms and if we are lucky we will find vicuñas in the wild.
Arriving at the Jampa pass at 5100 meters above sea level, a descent by bicycle of approximately two hours awaits us, through a super fluid path, but before we will enjoy our box lunch and hydrate to recharge our energy.
While descending we will cross the 7 turquoise lagoons of Ausangate, we will have brief stops to rest and to take good pictures. The snowy Ausangate will be very close, the landscapes of the place are indescribable, the combination of the lagoons surrounded by the snow-capped mountains makes an incredible contrast to the view.
We will culminate in the community of Pajchanta, with some good beers and a good bath in the hot springs to relax the body.
In the morning after breakfast, we will load our bicycles, and we will have as destination the Cuyuni pass located 1 hour from Pajchanta at 4195 masl, we will deviate along a road until we reach the radar, used for air traffic.
The radar will be our starting point for the descent towards the Andahuaylillas valley. The guide will give you a short talk about the trail and the safety measures, we will need on our descent.
While we go through the circuit, we will find flowy stages where you can experience high speeds, there are also small stairs and curves with natural cambers. The landscape is majestic, in the distance we will see the snow-capped Ausangate, extensive areas of cultivation and the typical houses made of mud.
Finally, we will arrive in the town of Urcos where we will have lunch and celebrate with some ice-cold beers. We will return to Cusco, finishing our service.
