BIKING MANU 5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS

We will start the tour picking you up from your hotel at 7:00 am. We will have lunch in the town of Paucartambo and have a short walk through its colonial streets, visit the temple of the Virgen del Carmen. After lunch we will go to the Ajanaco checkpoint where we will register before entering the viewpoint. Afterwards we will climb a stretch up to the camp at 3700 masl. Our team will be waiting for us with the camp ready and with hot drinks to warm up the body.

We will have dinner and if we are lucky with the weather, we will be able to appreciate the stars in their great splendor.   

At dawn we will have the privilege of witnessing the sunrise at the Tres Cruces viewpoint, a unique event that will connect us with the wonderful nature. This special event in the world allows us to fly in our imagination, after watching the sun rise over the horizon. We will thank the Earth and then have breakfast at the Tres Cruces camp.

We will receive safety information from our guide and start biking through landscapes and a variety of ecosystems for hours towards the town of San Pedro.

During the bike ride, we will see the biosphere change from majestic mountains to thick forests. It is important to point out that according to the level of each participant we will be able to do stretches of 2 - 3 to 4 hours biking. As we descend through the cloud forest road, we will be able to observe a diversity of birds, among the most popular, the Cock of the Rock.

IMPORTANT: We will have the vehicle at our disposal at all times in case any of the travelers feel exhausted, at any time you can choose to continue the trip in the vehicle or continue by bike.

We will arrive at our lodge for lunch, after lunch and rest we will have a short walk near the lodge where we can see beautiful birds and learn about some jungle plants and unique insects in the world.

For nature lovers we will have the optional activity "Birding" and start the day at approximately 05:00 hrs, to observe a variety of birds near the Lodge while enjoying the sunrise. Then we will have a delicious breakfast and we will go in the vehicle to the town of Pillcopata, where our bike trip begins. If you feel energetic, you can start the route by bike from the Lodge - San Pedro as the route is not at all hilly.

This part of the trip could be said to be the most physically demanding, but it is also the most spectacular because of the landscapes we will see on the way to Atalaya (main port of the Madre de Dios River) where we will have lunch and rest to replenish our energy.

After lunch we will have a spectacular boat ride on the Madre de Dios River, a unique and unforgettable experience to the lodge "EcoManu Lodge". In the afternoon we explore the lush Amazonian forest through the different trails to appreciate the giant rubber trees, tonillos, cedars, ficus, which are home to groups of capuchin monkeys, woolly monkeys, howler monkeys and dozens of species of birds such as colorful gucamayos, parrots, toucans, woodpeckers, etc.. Overnight at Eco Manu Lodge.

Early in the morning we board our boat to navigate down the Alto Madre de Dios River to the important oxbow lake Machuwasi, with the help of the telescope and comfortable rafts we will enter to observe a variety of lake birds such as herons, sparrow hawks, ducks, hoatzins, oropendolas, families of capybaras (the largest rodent in the world).

After noon we will have lunch at the lodge, and then we will have a walk to the top of a mountain, where we will try to observe monkeys, birds and other animals in the wild. In the evening after dinner we will have the option to walk along a trail in search of nocturnal life. This activity is optional.

We will leave early at 7:00 am by boat to the port of Atalaya, where our vehicle will be waiting for us to transfer us to the city of Cusco. We will have lunch on the way in Acjanaco (Manu checkpoint). We will finish at 15:00 hours approximately with the transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
