Itinerary

Day 1

City Tour in Lima

Upon arrival in Lima, we will welcome passengers at the airport and transfer them to their hotel. In the afternoon, we will begin a city tour of the city’s main attractions, including a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, the Historic Center of Lima, the Main Square, the Cathedral, the Municipal Palace, and the Monumental Complex of San Francisco with its famous Catacombs. Finally, we will explore modern and traditional areas such as San Isidro, Miraflores, and Larcomar.

Day 2

Maras Moray Enduro

After the transfer to the Sacred Valley and check-in at the hotel, we will assemble the bikes and have a safety briefing. In the afternoon, we will begin the first acclimatization ride on the Maras Clásico trail, descending over rocky terrain, loose dirt, and simple ramps. Along the route, we will visit the Maras Salt Mines and finish in the community of Pichingoto, crossing the Vilcanota River before returning to the hotel in Urubamba.

Day 3

Lares and Ancasmarca

After breakfast, we will ascend to Lares Pass to begin an optional freeride descent and continue along a flowy singletrack with technical sections. The route crosses canyons, rivers, steps, ancient paths, and landscapes where llamas and alpacas can be seen. After a rest and box lunch in Totora, we will transfer to Ancasmarca for a second technical circuit among Inca steps, queuña forest, tight turns, and moderate elevation changes, ending the day with a return to Urubamba.

Day 4

Incavalanche and Pumamarca

We will head toward Abra Málaga to begin one of the most exciting routes of the trip: Incavalanche, a cold-weather descent with possible views of the snow-capped La Verónica, featuring wet, rocky, and flowy sections, ramps, and simple drops. After a break with a box lunch in the community of Pirhi, we will continue toward the archaeological site of Pumamarca, where we will ride a technical descent among Inca terraces and Sacred Valley landscapes until finishing in Ollantaytambo.

Day 5

Machu Picchu

Very early in the morning, we will begin the journey to Machu Picchu, one of the wonders of the world. From Aguas Calientes, we will board the bus to the Inca citadel, where we will enjoy an approximately two-hour guided visit with a professional guide. During the tour, we will learn about the history, architecture, and cultural value of this impressive sanctuary. At the end, there will be free time in Aguas Calientes before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo and continuing by transport to Cusco.

Day 6

Free Day in Cusco

This day will be used to rest after several intense days on the bike. You may take the opportunity to explore a bit of the city or simply enjoy some well-deserved relaxation at your hotel.

Day 7

Ausangate 7 Lagoons

We will leave very early from Cusco toward Pitumarca to have breakfast and continue to Chilca, the starting point of the biking route. The ascent combines sections of pedaling and hiking until reaching Jampa Pass, at 5,100 meters above sea level, surrounded by high-Andean landscapes, snow-capped peaks, alpacas, llamas, and possible vicuñas. From there, we will begin a flowy descent through the seven turquoise lagoons of Ausangate, with stops for rest and photos, until reaching Pacchanta, where we can relax in its hot springs.

Day 8

El Radar

After breakfast, we will load the bikes and transfer to Cuyuni Pass, from where we will reach the air traffic control radar, the starting point of the descent toward the Andahuaylillas Valley. The route combines fast and flowy sections with small stairs, natural turns, and agricultural landscapes, always accompanied by views of the Ausangate snow-capped mountain and traditional communities. The ride ends in Urcos, where we will have lunch before returning to Cusco.

Day 9

Cusco Enduro

We will start the day with a transfer to Ocoruro Pass to ride the El Brujo trail, a technical route along a mountain ridge with stone obstacles, handmade stairs, turns, and vertical sections. Then we will continue to Corao Pass to ride the Yunkaypata trail, a descent with steep stairs, loose terrain, roots, ramps, bermed turns, and forested areas. This will be the perfect closing ride after several days of enduro adventure in the Andes of Cusco.

Amazing Maras-Moray tour on MTB! We absolutely loved our one-day MTB tour of Maras Moray. Not only did we get to explore the two sites, we also got to ride through breathtaking fields, hillsides and villages. We were accompanied by two excellent guides and were impressed by their knowledge of the area and their ability to adapt the tour to our group which had various levels of riders. This is truly the best way to get to know the Sacred Valley!

Magestic views, fun descents I was in Peru with my family—traveling the world for a year. We are avid riders from Vancouver Island British Columbia. I decided to go on 3 rides—each separated by a couple of days. Erick was a great guide and took me down some flowy descents with wide open vistas, a few sections of tech, just enough to keep one interested! Jump options on the Cusco rides, a couple little drops, perfect for someone who rides blacks and double blacks at home but wants to keep it safe while experiencing the wonder of the sacred valley. I rode a hightower which was perfect for me. The van picked me up and dropped me right from home. Even the shuttles up bring unreal views. A bit wet this time of year but the dirt is perfect for traction and you can open it up, and the lands are so lush and green.

Wonderful 14-days MTB trip with a warm and professionnal team! Wonderful 14-day MTB trip in the Sacred Valley, Cusco surroundings, and the Ausangate. It was the experience of a lifetime, and this is largely thanks to the extraordinary team of Explorinka. Erick organized the tour according to our wishes, providing good suggestions. He took care of all our needs and unforeseeable conditions, in order to offer the most suitable experience. And what a rider in addition! 🚴‍♀️ Miguel is an incredible guide and mechanic, able to lead us up to our limits on the most demanding DH I ever did, and to repair even the worse wreckings on the trail using his magic tricks👩‍🔧. And Yohan is an extremely competent assistant and driver, capable of dropping us the closest to every trail departure, despite the difficult mountain roads 🛺. Overall, an unforgettable experience for which I heartily thank explorinka. **If you're looking for the same, seek no further! 👍**

14 days riding in the region of Cusco We had the most fun trip to Cusco with Explorinka. 14 days of mountain biking and guided tours through the different landscapes of the Cusco region. From landing at Cusco airport until our departure, the trio Erick, Miguel and Johan provided us with incredible and very friendly service. Always attentive and ready to make changes according to your needs, the weather or even fatigue. They adapt to all situations, even the most complex. The equipment is of very good quality. They can repair any broken bike and allow you to continue enjoying your vacation. They are also excellent tour guides, which allows you to visit Peru while having fun on the trails. If you are looking to visit Peru in a less conventional way, you will not be disappointed with Explorinka. It is not just a business, but passionate peoples. A big thanks to Erick, Miguel and Johan for this unforgettable vacation in Peru.

The best Mountain Biking trip in the Andes I had an amazing experience with Explorinka. We did 14 days with my brother and a group of friends and Erick was helping us create the trip that fits exactly with our skills and what we wanted to do. To say the least, the guides are lovely and sooo knowledgeable! We had a bunch of mechanicals during the trip and my god, I have never seen anyone being able to repair a wheel that well on a trail. They take care of literally everything, hooked us up with some extremely nice hotels, provided super high end bikes very well maintained and they made sure the trip was just a blast from the moment they picked us up at the airport to the last restaurant with more than a few nice surprises! So if you are looking for an awesome group of guides to go mountain biking in the jaw dropping Andes, look no further. Thanks so much to Erick, Miguel and Johan for bringing us to the best places on earth!

Memorable ride around Cusco I did a solo ride with Eric to the mountains surrounding Cusco and I have to say it was a memorable experience and a great opportunity to explore the highlands and farms of Cusco with astounding views. Definitely worth it and an experience I will never forget . I would recommend and would definitely do it again if I happen to return in the area. He is very knowledgeable with the trails and bikes were well maintained and excellent . You will be suited with trails according to your skills and ability. The ceviche reward at the end of the ride was a bonus and well deserved. Bravo!
