This fabulous day we will bike along the Urubamba River, a river that runs through the entire Sacred Valley of the Incas. Depending on the length of the tour, you can start this beautiful journey in the Inca towns of Pisca, Urubamba or any of the villages of the Sacred Valley. We will be able to enjoy the cool climate of the Valley with amazing views of its peaks and mountains while you walk through extensive cultivated fields and in between the fields, small Andean communities where we will have the opportunity to rest, share with their residents and taste Chicha, an ancestral drink in the Peruvian Andes, made from corn. The towns of the valley keep different secrets and colossal archaeological complexes among them Pisac. This was a royal hacienda, composed of terraces, domestic and ceremonial structures, and aqueducts. It was built under the Inca Pachacutec, the same who built the fortress of Ollantaytambo, located at the other end of the Valley. Ollantaytambo was undoubtedly a fortress for its strategic location and one of the few cities that still maintains the Inca urban planning. This was a military construction built to protect the capital of the Inca empire from possible invasions and it is believed that it was built to enable roads to the Antisuyo (the jungle). This beautiful bike tour is perfect for families or for those travelers who want a scenic ride of little difficulty, full of nature, unique landscapes and culture.
